How do I use the invitation list feature? https://www.isurvey.soton.ac.uk/help/how-do-i-use-the-invitation-list-feature/ Mon, 09 May 2011 13:19:56 +0000 https://www.isurvey.soton.ac.uk/help/?p=298 Continue reading ]]> The invitation list feature (found under the ‘Invitations’ link in the main menu) allows you to send personalized emails to an individual, or to a group of individuals.

You can batch send email by uploading a CSV file containing their name and email address. This can be useful if you wish to use iSurvey for sending out links to students taking module evaluation questionnaires, for example.

Other things to note

  • The email can be customized using standard tags that are added automatically e.g. [FullName] and [SurveyLink] will add the correct information for each individual
  • Each individual receives a unique link tied to them, meaning you can track who has, and how has not completed the survey
  • Individuals have the option to ‘Opt out’ and not take the survey if they wish
  • You have the option to ‘one click’ send a reminder email to individuals who have not opted and out and not yet responded. This can only be done once for each individual, therefore reducing the possibility of ‘spamming’ participants.

How do I advertise my survey? https://www.isurvey.soton.ac.uk/help/how-do-i-advertise-my-survey/ Mon, 09 May 2011 13:06:27 +0000 https://www.isurvey.soton.ac.uk/help/?p=295 Continue reading ]]> You have several options for advertising your survey

Option 1 : Paste the survey URL into an external website / email

Each survey created in iSurvey has a unique URL. e.g. www.isurvey.soton.ac.uk/your_survey_ID

You can find this URL on the ‘publicise’ page of your survey.

If you want to advertise this on any other website simply copy and paste this URL into the webpage. An online guide shows you how to do this in the ‘Publicize’ section of your survey.

Option 2 : Advertise your survey on the iSurvey home page

By default new surveys are NOT shown in the ‘public list’ of surveys on the iSurvey homepage. You can make yours appear by clicking the ‘Show my survey on the Public List’ option in Survey Settings > Survey Options. Any text in written in the optional ‘Survey notes’ section will also appear in e.g. ‘Win a 5 pound gift voucher’

Option 3 : Use the invitation lists

If you have a specific list of individuals you wish to send the survey to (e.g. a module evaluation questionnaire) you can use the invitation list feature to send personalized emails to each individual.
