COVID-19 Researcher Volunteer survey

Dear Colleagues,

As the University moves to minimise the use of the Highfield Campus, we recognise that some University staff may have had to rethink what they can and cannot do during their working week. We wanted to provide the opportunity for staff who find they have more spare time in these extraordinary circumstances to contribute their skills to help in some of our University research to combat COVID-19. The Wessex Academic Health Sciences Centre is collecting information about ongoing covid-19 related research and enterprise projects.

The WAHSC mission will be to accelerate COVID-19 research through coordinated action, delivering solutions from all disciplines into the NHS to improve health and social care.

If you have queries about research volunteering please send these to UoSCovid19ResponseTeam@soton.ac.uk.

Wessex AHSC queries can still be directed to AHSCC-19Engage@soton.ac.uk

By filling in the following survey you can register your interest in joining the University COVID-19 research effort. There will be work that can be done from home, all skills sets may be useful and where possible specialised skills will be mapped to ongoing priority research efforts where workforce is the main barrier to rapid progress.

If you think you may have available time and skills (these could be practical, administrative, academic or a range of other skills), please discuss with your line manager and complete the survey. We will begin a mapping exercise of abilities to University COVID priority needs.

Privacy notice:  The details you have provided will be held by the AHSC team at the University of Southampton for the purpose of mapping abilities to University and University Hospital Southampton NHS FT COVID priority needs.  We will share these details with workforce leads at UoS and UHS.  The AHSC team will not share your contact details with other third parties unless we have obtained explicit consent from you to do so.  You may update your details and/or ask us not to contact you at any time, by writing to AHSCC-19engage@soton.ac.uk

Yours sincerely
